Fintech Cadence, Canada’s largest fintech incubator, has announced a new collaboration with Visa to accelerate innovation in the country’s financial technology sector.
The partnership will provide support, education, and networking opportunities for Canadian startups developing products for the payment and remittance industry.
The move reflects Visa’s ongoing global commitment to fintech growth, having worked with over 2,000 startups worldwide to address key challenges in digital payments. In Canada, fintechs are playing an increasingly vital role in shaping the future of financial services and driving economic progress.
“We are excited about this new collaboration and the trust Visa has put in us,” said Layial El-Hadi, Executive Director at Fintech Cadence. “We have always been strong proponents of fostering collaboration and helping bridge the gap with founders who break the norm daily and provide innovative solutions for Canadian consumers and businesses.”
Chris Ferron, Vice President of Enablers, Merchants, and Fintechs at Visa, echoed the enthusiasm, emphasizing Visa’s role in nurturing emerging startups. “Our work with Fintech Cadence is a testament to this commitment, and we are thrilled to collaborate to empower bold ideas and drive meaningful change in the payment space.”
As part of the collaboration, Visa will serve as a Champion Sponsor of the 2025 Fintech Drinks Series, a networking and thought leadership event series. The first event is set to take place in Montreal on March 26, 2025, at Espace CDPQ, followed by gatherings in Halifax (May), Calgary (June), Toronto (September), and a return to Montreal (November).
