Toronto and New York-based startup Nautical Commerce has unveiled a new no-code marketplace platform that empowers merchants to launch, manage, and scale online marketplaces without needing a team of developers.
Designed to eliminate traditional technical and financial barriers, the new platform offers an affordable and intuitive way for entrepreneurs to build niche marketplaces — a growing trend among online shoppers.
“The future of commerce isn’t one giant marketplace — it’s thousands of specialized ones,” said Niklas Halusa, Co-founder and CEO of Nautical Commerce. “That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new platform, which makes launching a multi-vendor marketplace as simple as starting a traditional online store.”

The platform is tailored to modern merchants with features such as:
- A no-code storefront builder and drag-and-drop website editor
- A streamlined seller onboarding process with dedicated seller portals
- Centralized dashboards for operations and performance tracking
- Built-in multi-vendor checkout and integrations with tools like Shopify, Klaviyo, and Zapier
- Flexible pricing starting at $188/month on a one-year term
Already recognized for its headless infrastructure, Nautical continues to support larger merchants seeking advanced customization options.
The launch comes amid a shift in consumer preferences — while Amazon and Alibaba still dominate, 70% of North American shoppers say they prefer curated, niche marketplaces.
Backed by $30 million in Series A funding, Nautical Commerce currently employs around 30 people in its Canadian office and has plans to expand its team as it advances its mission to democratize marketplace technology.
